GEA Marine Technical Day 2009
Market place of possibilities
Four GEA companies bunch their marine know how and invite to the first “GEA Marine Technical Day“.
GEA Bloksma, GEA Maschinenkühltechnik, GEA PHE Systems and GEA Westfalia Separator bunch their competences as component manufacturers for the marine sector and position themselves as partner for the shipping industry. Mid of September the four GEA companies invited to the first „GEA Marine Technical Day“, which took place in Hamburg. Ship owners, shipyards and engine manufacturers have been informed about aligned solutions for drive lines and industrial engineering.
About 60 customers have visited the „Market place of possibilities“ at the competence and service center of GEA Westfalia Separator near to the Hamburg harbor. Visitors have taken the chance to discuss intensely with GEA developer and to get pragmatic food for thoughts of the daily routine for future developments. Focus was the preparation of fresh water on board, separation of bilge water and the possibilities for reduction of NOX emissions – all in all environment oriented subjects for which the four GEA companies offer concerted solutions in collaboration with high performance components.
In the future the shipbuilding industry will increasingly demand for system solutions whose components are optimal harmonized - on the one hand to further reduce costs and on the other hand to increase efficiency. The first „GEA Marine Technical Day“ made clear that the GEA companies as technological leading component suppliers consider themselves as system provider and use synergies for the development.
At the same time the market place of possibilities is an ideal platform to get in contact with customers and operators more intensive, to discuss and to incorporate the knowledge in technical developments. This is the reason why the next „GEA Marine Technical Day“ will take place in 2010.
